I don't understand. Based on what you have written here, it seems you are saying that economic oppression exists, while racial oppression does not. Just as there are histories, systems, and events that made you poor, the author is asserting that this may be true for racial oppression. Just as people who are economically oppressed still have ability to gain comfort and mobility, to some degree, so do people of color... I am not here to attack you, I just honestly cannot understand your logic here.
